'Two Kinds of Happiness'
'You’re So Right'
'Taken For A Fool'
'Games'
'Call Me Back'
'Gratisfaction'
'Metabolism'
'Life Is Simple In The Moonlight'

The first blog post on here that isn’t a British artist and its come at a good time and Im glad it’s a band as good as The Strokes.
Just finished listening to the new album named Angles.  The first album from the Strokes as a whole for quite a few years now and they are back with a great album. I was so sure Id be disappointed with this comeback but I’m happy to say I’m not!
I’ve picked out 4 standout tracks for this album, although I don’t feel there is one that I could say won’t grow on me over time. A feeling which is the same for all Strokes Albums.
I’m pretty damn certain ‘Call Me Back’ is going to be one of my favourite tracks of the year.
Standout tracks Metabolism, Machu Piccu, Your So Right, Call Me Back

Elbow/Richard Hawley - The Fix

Taken from the album, Seldom Seen kid, 'The Fix' features ex pulp musician Richard Hawley. A collaboration derived from the north of England sees the two artists meet in a wonderful song that I have only just discovered recently.

The album Seldom Seen Kid also features some songs I haved loved in the past such as 'Grounds For Divorce' and 'One Day Like This'.

Gonna have to go back and listen to this album in full.

Arctic Monkeys "Brick By Brick"

The band that burst onto the scene in 2005/2006 with their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What Im Not, are back in 2011 with an imminent 4th album release. To wet peoples whistles ahead of their yet unamed album the Arctic Monkeys have released a taster of things to come.

"Brick By Brick" is considerably more 'mainstream" than the Arctics previous album "Humbug" which was recorded out in the Desert with Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme.

Splitting the Arctic Monkeys fanbase right down the middle, the track suggests that the whole new album could take similar shape but as far as im concerned this is just a taster and should be seen as a welcome relief seeing the drummer taking lead vocals for once.

Miles Kane

Miles Kane, a Liverpool singer song writer who takes a big inspiration from the Beatles burst onto the scene when he was one half of The Last Shadow Puppets with Arctic Monkeys lead singer Alex Turner. Now a solo artist since leaving his band The Rascals, Kane is looking to make a name for himself rather than being known as just one half of a spin off band.

His debut album is called "Colour Of The Trap" and is due for release on the 25th April.

1. "Come Closer"
2. "Rearrange"
3. "King Crawler"
4. "My Fantasy"
5. "Take The Night From Me"
6. "Counting Down The Days"
7. "Better Left Invisible"
8. "Inhaler"
9. "Quicksand"
10. "Telepathy"
11. "Happenstance"
12. "Colour Of The Trap"

My Verdict:
Looking forward to hearing the whole album, considering former Oasis lyracist Noel Gallagher features on one of the songs. Having heard only the two singles up to now, 'Inhaler' and 'Come Closer' im getting the same sort of feeling I did when hearing his Last Shadow Puppets and Rascals material. I love the tunes but it takes a bit of getting used to his voice. Think on the whole when the album does come my way I will learn to love it thats why im doing a pre review.

If you like the tune up there then its worth checking out his former band, The Rascals and The Last Shadow Puppets

Let me know what you guys think!

Welcome!

I was feeling a bit constricted with just sports news, not much stories going on I could actually give my opinion on.

I am going to try to broaden my blogging horizons and give you guys all a flavour of my music taste! Id like to think its quite varied sometimes, I can appreciate most types of music not just constricting myself to one 'genre'.

However mostly your gonna get British music as thats what I tend to appreciate more :)
